Well, as with any other Saturday I was awoken early in the morning by Princess who wanted to show me the wrapped Christmas gift she had purchased for me while shopping with her grandparents last night. Sadly to say, I was exhausted and told her to go back to bed for a few more minutes and she could show me a little later on. I know, how terrible right? But you need to know it was very early in the morning not no 8:00 ok? Anyhow, as soon as she left in walks Freckles, she too, wanted to do the same, well by then I was more awake than what I thought. As I laid there I told her the same thing I said to her sister. As she left, who do we hear on the monitor calling, DDDAAAADDDDDDYYYY, MMMOOOMMMMMYYYY. Yep, it was Chunk all right. I was like, you have got to be kidding me, what is up?
Well, I guess from hearing what I had told the girls, my hubby knew I was not about to get up that early on a Saturday! So, being the great man he is, he got up and went to take care of all who were awake. Of course, I could not just lay there knowing he was probably more tired than I was after a great company party the night before.
So I get up to help. Bless his heart, he is pretty fast b/c by the time I got into the kitchen, he was already making breakfast for the crew and had the coffee going for us. As I turned the corner I see him happily and I mean happily and HEAVILY spraying the muffin pan with pam over the open kitchen floor. My first thought was, does he not know how slippery and dangerous that can be? So I lovingly then explained it would probably be best to do it over the sink. "o.k" he said.
I was loving on the kids as they were excitedly showing me their Christmas purchases and then I hear, " Why in the world is this so runny?" I went to see what was wrong and the muffin batter had turned into muffin soup. "BLESS HIS HEART" I thought to myself. "he is trying SO hard" I gave him a huge hug and told him just to add more muffin mix and it would be fine.
Well, to make an even longer story shorter, the muffins were wonderful as was the rest of breakfast, the kids were happy and our very early morning rolled right along.
I am truely so very grateful for my hubby, even if things are not always so rosey or do not go as planned. I love to look back on the past 10 years we have been blessed to be together, and just thank the Lord for my #1 HUBBY!
